MS Word Basic Course Overview

What will you learn when you enroll for MS Word Basic Microsoft Office Application? We will teach you the following to become familiar with what MS Word does for computer users. After completing the course you will learn that we use Word to write letters, create journals, produce business reports and write personal and organizational proposals.

In the course which will take about two (2) days in total you will be exposed to the fundamental information that will help you find your way around Word Office Application. You will know how to:

Use the elements of Word window, and create or save a document.

  • You will learn how to open a new document and view the page panels which provide a dashboard to format, insert, save and print the document.
  • You will be able you insert pictures, graphs, type text and modify and resize or change fonts, insert symbols, do and redo or correct errors in the document.
  • You will become familiar with how to create tables, and delete rows and columns, change columns width and size or convert table to text.
  • You learn how to insert headers and footers, set margins on the documents, change page orientation and delete page breaks and prepare your document to print.

This is just part of the overview of what you can do with MS Word when you enroll and begin to gain more control and understanding how to use this application in the office environment, or for personal use. This course has 9 modules which we cover in a period of 2 days in succession.

It is imperative that our student’s plan the two days and complete it as suggested in order to derive the maximum benefits of the course. This course is instructor lead course; therefore your instructor will guide you all the way from the start to the finish. You have the opportunity to interact with other students and ask question when you do not understand a concept.

Laptop Requirements
As we have mentioned earlier in the posts on this blog, we encourage our students to have an installation of Microsoft Office Applications installed before they can undertake to book our classes for this course.

Student Competency Requirements
To be accepted for this course you must be able to read and write and have at least a Matric is possible. You will be doing practice exercises in the classroom and this requires a basic ABET certification and typing skills or QWERTY Keyboard proficiency.
